MCP® (Micro Chrome Plating)

Ultra-thin, dimensionally stable and enhanced durability
MCP® is a technique whereby CZL Tilburg galvanically applies an ultra-thin, dimensionally stable chromium coating to the surface. The characteristic features produced by this technique are uniformity, durability, hardness, low friction and non-stick properties.
The coating has proven itself over the years in injection moulds, where it is used to improve the clearance and running properties. Due to the low processing temperature (< 60ºC) MCP® is highly suitable for precision-built mould components and low tempered tooling steels.

Added value in pharmaceutical, medical and foodstuff industries
MCP® is frequently used in business sectors subject to extremely high requirements. The technique adds value for materials and components from the pharmaceutical, medical and foodstuffs industries. This is especially true in relation to coatings for tools, instruments, stamps and cutting equipment.
The coating with a thickness of 2-3 micrometres generally has no effect on the dimensions.

Perfection in corrosion resistance and durability
CZL Tilburg can combine MCP® treatment with a dimensionally stable, electroless nickel coating to achieve superior resistance to corrosion. The MCP® coating can be applied to most types of tool steel, copper, beryllium copper, brass, bronze and aluminium.
